Elizabeth Steiner Godsy
Mrs. South Dakota United States 2009 The best description of Elizabeth: Advocate.
Elizabeth was first recognized for her advocacy when she was selected from 13,000 students as the Most Outstanding Student Leader on her college campus. After college, she received a 4.0 in a Counseling Masters program and next graduated with Honors with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from The University of Texas School of Law. At UT, Elizabeth volunteered as an attorney-ad-litem with abused children. After graduation, she accepted a lucrative job in commercial litigation, but soon realized her heart had remained with her child clients. Thus, she decided to pursue her true passion: helping children as a family lawyer.
Elizabeth also advocates for preventing school violence. She was personally affected by this epidemic when her father, a teacher, was severely beaten by a student and sustained brain damage. Elizabeth married her true love: Tyson Godsy. As a Physician, Tyson shares Elizabeth’s passion for helping others.
