Lori-Ann Navares
Mrs. Hawaii United States 2009 Lori-Ann Navares will be celebrating her 10th anniversary to Allen Navares this August and together they have 3 precious little girls, Aaliyah (7), Avah (3), and Alexa (2). Lori enjoys going to the beach, baking, and making a difference in her girls’ lives. Lori loves working as a Legal Assistant where she is able to help people who have suffered serious injuries. She also has developed the Live Healthy, Live Longer program in association with the Hawaii Chapter of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. She creates awareness of diabetes by educating children, and teaching them how to choose the right foods and stay fit. Lori also works in educating families who are affected by diabetes with the message that diabetes does not have to hinder their life. Lori is determined to change the lives of the people with diabetes, by speaking and getting involved with activities to help educate them on the cause and treatment. Diabetes is close to home for Lori since her dad and grandfather both are affected by this disease.
