Lacey is a corporate communicator and fitness enthusiast. Born and raised in the Lone Star State, she graduated from Texas Tech University, then planted professional roots and home in Dallas-Ft. Worth. She blends love of writing with endless energy for showing others how to live a fit and fun lifestyle. An avid distance runner, Lacey is anticipating her second marathon in October 2012. When she married Barnes, she welcomed two "bonus children," Taylor (17) and Matthew (14). Along with their Doberman named Maximus, Lacey’s family is the love of her life.

Lacey volunteers with children''s charities, focusing on childhood obesity awareness and helping young people build self-confidence and self-esteem. As Mrs. Texas United States she hosts parties and pageants at children''s hospitals and nursing homes, and believes smiling is the best medicine. Lacey is eager to share the friendliness of the Lone Star State with contestants.
