Janice McQueen Ward, cousin to the legendary Steve McQueen, worked her way through college as a Wilhelmina Model and Commercial Actress. Janice studied at the North Carolina School of the Arts, the University of North Carolina and Elon College earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music and Theatre Performance. Janice is an accomplished Flutist and Singer.

During her reign as Mrs. United States, Janice traveled the nation as a spokesperson for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The American Cancer Society and The American Heart Association and is the only Mrs. United States to receive a special invitation to the White House. She was a special guest of President and Mrs. Clinton for Mother’s Day and the Million Mom March, May of 2000. She was honored with the opportunity of addressing the Senate and the US Conference of Mayors as an advocate of National Volunteer Week. Janice believes that the secret to America's success is our unique ability for bringing people together for the common good and our willingness to serve a cause greater than self.
 
Since moving to Los Angeles, Janice signed with the prestigious Abrams Artists Agency and has guest starred on many shows, including Veronica Mars, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Passions. She guest hosts Vintage Vehicle TV, FUN 360, has starred in many national commercials and is a model for Reclaim and Bare Minerals.

Janice resides in Santa Monica, California with her husband, Tony and son, Cameron.
